One frame, edited together

At the midday review table, each photographer brings one frame and the group edits it together. What we look at, and why only one.

One frame each

After the morning drive, everyone picks a single picture from the card. Not the best ten: one. Choosing it is half the lesson, because you have to decide what the morning was about before anyone else sees it.

Around the table

The frame goes up on the review screen and the group talks it through with a mentor: where the eye goes first, what the edges are doing, whether the light helps the subject or fights it. Then we edit it together, one adjustment at a time, so everyone sees what each change does.

Back to the vehicle

The point is the next drive. A note from the table, such as waiting for the head to turn or leaving more room on the side the animal faces, is something you can try that same evening, from the same seat.
